As a result of the increased focus on cost, the involvement of procurement in purchasing corporate real estate (CRE) services, while not new, has risen exponentially. CRE and procurement teams are working more closely together - CRE executives as the ‘category specialists’ for real estate, the procurement team bringing discipline and governance to the process. This paper builds on the lessons learned from those who have been down this path before and highlights some of the best practices that can be applied to take the ‘pain’ out of procuring real estate services.
