JLL's Nihat Ercan Awarded "Rising Star Award Asia Pacific"

The award is co-sponsored by the International Society of Hospitality Consultants and Hotel Investment Conference Asia Pacific (HICAP).

​​​SINGAPORE, 16 October 2015 – JLL’s Nihat Ercan, Executive Vice President, Investment Sales, Asia, Hotels & Hospitality Group, has been awarded the Rising Star Award Asia Pacific for his track record in hotel transactions.

The award is co-sponsored by the International Society of Hospitality Consultants and Hotel Investment Conference Asia Pacific (HICAP).

Mr Ercan was recognized for his record of executing US$4.5 billion in hotel transactions across the globe in his 13-year career with JLL, according to a statement from HICAP. Mr Ercan has been involved in record-breaking landmark transactions such as the Jumeirah Dhevanafushi Maldives, the Grand Park Orchard Singapore and most recently, the InterContinental Hong Kong.

The Rising Star Award Asia Pacific was launched in 2014 to recognize dynamic young achievers in in the hotel industry who demonstrate exceptional ability, vision and drive. Nominees must be 35 years and younger, and are nominated by mentors and peers; the winner is determined in a months-long selection process by a judging committee of senior industry executives.

In his acceptance speech, Mr Ercan, (34 years) said he had set his sights on a career in commercial aviation after graduation but had failed a colour-differentiation test. He later joined a hospitality school in the UK and decided to look for internships at consulting firms. He joined JLL in 2002.

“I did not make the journey here alone. Many have provided immeasurable support and I would not be where I am without the unrelenting support of my colleagues, associates and senior leadership across JLL’s global platform,” said Mr Ercan.
