Jones Lang LaSalle appointed to manage Property Services across Qantas Australian operations

Extensive portfolio in excess of 18 million sq ft covers 29 locations around Australia

SINGAPORE, 8 AUGUST 2012 – Jones Lang LaSalle has signed an agreement for the provision of Property Services to Australia’s largest domestic airline, Qantas.

The initial five-year contract appoints Jones Lang LaSalle as the Managed Services Provider for most of the Qantas property portfolio across Australia, with the exception of some specific Qantas business operations.
The extensive portfolio in excess of 18 million sq ft covers 29 locations across Australia and includes both airside and landside operations, encompassing airport terminals, catering, freight lounges and corporate office facilities management services.  Jones Lang LaSalle will also provide property services to retail outlets within the Qantas Domestic Terminals in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane.
Under the partnering agreement, Jones Lang LaSalle will provide Qantas with integrated property services, including facilities management, real estate management, risk management, financial transactions processing and reporting. It will result in a co-located team of Qantas and Jones Lang LaSalle’s Corporate Solutions Division at the airline’s Mascot Headquarters.
Jordi Martin, Managing Director of Integrated Facilities Management for Jones Lang LaSalle in Asia Pacific said, “The signing of this agreement is a significant milestone for our business and consolidates our position as a dominant corporate property advisor to large institutions in Australia, Asia-Pacific and globally.”
“This appointment also strengthens our capabilities in the aviation sector, where there is significant airport growth expected in Asia over the next ten years, including a projected 97 new airports to be built in China by 2020 and 45 new airports to open in Indonesia by 2022,” said Mr Martin
“Our role will help Qantas focus on its primary business services and further strengthen its position in the Australian market as the largest domestic and international carrier. Qantas is a great company and an iconic Australian brand; we are proud to partner with them,” he said.
