Due to a redevelopment plan of the adjoining building, Nine Queen’s Road’s seawater supply was to end within ten months. Since using freshwater to cool towers is illegal and there was insufficient space to install chillers, the building’s owners found themselves in a quandary.
Given our experience and expertise in such matters, the owners appointed us as project manager to help them come up with a solution. We then conducted feasibility studies for the most optimal solution to the situation and identified that a combination of air-cooled and freshwater systems will be best for the project.
We then sought application from the government to legally use freshwater for cooling the tower. We also assisted with the appointment of a consultant and quantity surveyor for chiller replacement. During the course of the project, we ensured that there was minimal tenant disruption.
