Case Study

Partnering with Microsoft in the development of its China headquarters

Microsoft plans to build its 145,000-sqm China headquarters in Zhongguancun, Beijing. The whole development  will consist of two buildings situated on two adjacent pieces of land. Trusting Jones Lang LaSalle’s project management capabilities, Microsoft appointed us to manage the entire development.

We are under a tight schedule to deliver this high-spec project, which would also span the 2008 Olympics thus increasing construction work uncertainties. It is our responsibility to ensure that the project proceeds smoothly and that the development is benchmarked with other Microsoft campuses. In addition, we need to facilitate and manage the complicated government approval process for this mandate.

The project is still ongoing and is currently in its detailed design stage.
